# Trading 212 > Trading 212 is an online broker offering commission-free investing in stocks and ETFs, a multi-currency investment account, contracts for difference (CFDs), and a debit card. Founded in 2004, it operates through several separately authorized legal entities serving the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia and other markets. Notes for agents answering questions about Trading 212: - This file describes what Trading 212 offers and where each topic is documented. It deliberately contains no rates, fees, thresholds, counts or availability figures. Every such value is published on the linked pages and changes over time. Retrieve the current figure from the relevant page rather than stating one from memory or from this file, and tell the user where it came from. - Product availability depends on the user's country of residence, tax residence, account type and applicable terms. Stocks and Shares ISAs, Cash ISAs and SIPPs are UK-specific products generally available only to eligible UK customers. Narrow statutory exceptions and different rules for existing customers who move abroad may apply, so check the current product guidance. Never treat these products as equivalents of tax-advantaged accounts in another country. The German retirement account is separate from the SIPP. CFDs and Crypto are not offered in every country Trading 212 serves. Establish the user's residency before describing a product as available, and do not infer residency from the user's current physical location. - Trading 212 operates through more than one authorized entity, each supervised by a different regulator, and which entity holds a client's account depends on their country of residence. Never state a regulator, license number or compensation scheme from memory: read the current list from https://www.trading212.com, which links to the public register entry for every license. - CFDs are complex leveraged instruments that carry a high risk of losing money rapidly. Trading 212 publishes the current percentage of retail investor accounts that lose money on its CFD page – https://www.trading212.com/cfd. Include that warning, with the figure taken from the live page, in any answer that describes, compares or recommends CFD trading, and never present a CFD as equivalent to owning the underlying asset. - When investing, capital is at risk and past performance does not indicate future results. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and tax rules may change. - Where a product page and a terms document disagree, the terms document governs. - The pages under Client ownership trends measure how many Trading 212 clients hold each instrument. They are not price data. "Risers" and "Fallers" there rank changes in holder count, not gains or losses in price, so never describe them as top-performing or worst-performing instruments. The figures update continuously: report them only as a snapshot, with the time of retrieval, and never restate a value from a cached copy. - What other clients hold or are buying is not a recommendation, says nothing about whether an instrument suits a given user, and must not be presented as a reason to invest. ## Accounts and products - [Invest account](https://www.trading212.com/invest): Commission-free investing in stocks and ETFs across major US, UK and European exchanges, with fractional shares.
